The Unfortunate Race for Weapons of Mass Destruction

Kings and Generals fought battles in the past to expand their territory. These warriors aspired for endless

territories. This could be possible through wars. But, the wars were not tinged with the technologically

disastrous touch.

The wars, being confined to swords and spears, got limited in its magnitude. These battles encompassed the

opponents on either sides. Though they resulted in loss of lives and wealth, they did not endanger the planet, or the nations that were out of its ambit.                                        s.

They, being deprived of gun powder, chemical weapons

and nuclear warheads, were not so disastrous.

But, the scientific inventions and discoveries, that invaded our age, paved the path

to industrialization. Further, the discovery of the

new sea routes to the world, fueled the existing urge with the greed of imperialism. Before man could realize the disastrous powers concealed within

the scientific inventions and discoveries, the first world war and the

second world war had already caused

                                                                                              destruction beyond imagination.

Though, the fear of devastation sojourned for a while, gradually, the race for

proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, took speed. Despite the consistent efforts, the U.N.O. has

succeeded little in taming the wild enthusiasm of many nations. It is time the nations realized about keeping

the world away from not only the wars but even the dream of waging wars. One needs to realize that wars

give ash, not fruits. Let not the world become a victim of the foolish urge of the few.

The Humanity hopes for a world of realization but not a world of powerful lunatics.
