The growing car industry in Britain, could challenge the German car industry to certain extent. However, it would be a hard nut to crack, for the British car sector if the German quality remained unparalleled. According to the report for the society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), UK car manufacturing will continue to rise at the same time for at least the next four years-meaning that Britain may almost double its production to 2.2 million vehicles by 2016 and plough an extra 3 billion euros into the economy.
The SMMT report also states that 8 out of 10 cars currently built in the Britain end up on foreign roads as British made cars are now sold in more that 170 countries.
For the first time the UK is making more money from exporting cars than it spends on importing them. Jaguar Land Rover has recorded its highest ever annual sales last year with a 76% growth in China.
Dr. Peter Wells, of the Centre For Automotive industry Research at Cardiff University, told the Daily Express Overall, we're doing fantastically well at a bleak time for car manufacturing around the world .
The jaguar sale has gone beyond their expectations according to the British companies.
'On its own, British-ness is not enough to sell cars but underpinned by quality and performance it gives us an edge. In China and Russia there are individuals with significant wealth who want British-made cars.'

The time has come for the German manufactures to match their steps with the modern trends and needs. The Germans need to make a blend of design and lifestyle, without compromising its quality, that has stood the test of time for more than a century. Also, the German car manufacturers should explore ways to tap the potentiality of the German car industry, that has left the woes of the middle-class unheeded. To produce cars that would be affordable to the middle class families, would be a bit tough for the German industry but where there is a will there is a way.
