Wind On Wires (WOW), launched in 2001, is the
leading wind energy advocacy group in the Midwest and the regional affiliate of
the American Wind Energy Association. It was created to utilize wind energy to
the maximum extent.It concentrates on policy and technical aspects of
connecting wind farms to the transmission grid and delivering wind energy to
market. Moreover, its spirit is “road to market” for wind energy.
It focuses on transmission planning
and creating equitable rules that govern the use of the electric grid. People,
who operate the electric system, are educated by WOW, about the characteristics
of wind energy.
WOW
appreciates the interest of the Midwest clean energy advocates, for
their efforts in appealing to the electric utility companies to supply power to
the customers, which is harnessed from wind and solar energy. WOW looks forward
to building a future in the Midwest, which is replete with renewable energy.
