His another blockbuster movie, Avatar broke his own record ( of Titanic) with the collection of $1.858 billions worldwide. Avatar falls into the category of science fiction. According to the Hollywood, Avatar is currently No.2 on the all time domestic gross list with $551,741,499. On the other hand, Titanic made $600.8 million domestically.

               James Cameron won for his movie, Avatar" the Golden Globe for best director, and best motion picture drama. Thus, the top world wide grossing films of all-time now are Avatar at No.1 and Titanic at No.2. Titanic has collected $1.843 billion while "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" with a collection of $1.129 billion, stood at No.3. "Pirates of the Caribbean:Dead Man's Chest" with a collection of $1.129 billion, stood at No.4. "The Dark Knight" with a collection of $1.061 billion, stood at No.5.
