Dubai unveils an enthralling new project that comprises the longest indoor ski-slope, the largest dancing fountain and the tallest residential tower, the highest 360 degree observation deck and the highest restaurant.
The 1.2 kilometre run would be the longest indoor ski-slope in the world.
It would be 3 times longer than the existing slope of Dubai.
Indoor ski slope provides a climate controlled environment in which snow is manufactured using a snow cannon. This provides a strange experience year round skiing and snowboarding. Vienna got the opportunity to have the first indoor ski slope called Schneepalast ( a German word for snow palace )which was opened on November 26, 1927. The place selected for the project was an abandoned railway station, the Nordwestbahnhof. Then the snow was made of soda. It came to a close in 1943.
The world's first commercial indoor ski slope was operated from 1987 to 2005 at Mount Thebarton, in Adelaide, South Australia.
SnowWorld, Landgraaf, where the world's first indoor snowboard FIS WorldCup contest was held, is the world's largest indoor ski area. It is located in Netherlands.
Germany has the world's longest indoor slope which is 640 metres. It is located in AlpinCenter.
